Morakniv has once again received international recognition for its knife collection in the discipline Product Design & Sports/Outdoor from the prestigious iF Design Awards jury.
The iF Product Design Award 2024 is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world, with over 10,000 entries submitted for judging.
“This collection represents over 130 years of knife manufacturing experience in the Morakniv knife factory, together with modern design elements that encourage you to explore nature,” says Thomas Johansson, Industrial Designer at Morakniv.
With The Ash Wood Outdoor Collection knives, we look centuries back in time and note that the story of our dear morakniv knife begins long before our company first saw the light of day.
The names of the knives included in the collection are paying homage to those that in one way or another were involved in the foundation of the knife manufacturing industry in Mora, Sweden. Therefore, Finn, Wit, Lok & Rombo are the family names that tell our story.
In the spirit of our ancestors, this collection reflects how they originally made knives that would last a lifetime. All handles are made of bright ash wood, have full tang black knife blades of recycled Swedish stainless steel, and are secured in protective black vegetable tanned leather sheaths. Making the new collection entirely out of natural materials, for a more sustainable adventure.
