The year 2021 marks the 130-year Anniversary of Morakniv. Now it’s time to celebrate our very own store, Morakniv Concept Store, which turns 5 this year. Summer is approaching and after a short break during the pandemic, you are now welcome to visit us again!

Morakniv Concept Store opened for the first time in May 2016, together with Nils Olsson Dalahästar. The store, offering both Dala horses and high-quality knives, quickly became a success to both local citizens and tourists. Initially, the store was intended to be open only during the summer. As autumn came closer, there was a strong will to continue running the store.

Since 2016, we have taken care of the store ourselves and developed it in many ways.

“Over the years, we have rebuilt, and updated the store to what it is today. The store’s layout and atmosphere together with the staff’s top expertise make each visit welcoming and familiar. Every visitor gets new knowledge and inspiration for the next adventure or project.” says Pia von Seth, who is the Store Manager at Morakniv Concept Store.

Despite a brief shutdown during the pandemic’s recent weeks, the future looks bright for the store. Previously, Morakniv Concept Store has been a place for many inspiring events and courses, something we will continue with when the situation allows.

“This year we will continuously highlight local craftsmen through small exhibitions in the store. Our brand and our products have a strong connection to the handicraft and woodcarving tradition, and it’s a pleasure to show off the beautiful works that you can actually create with a Morakniv. In addition to this, we look forward to once again offering woodcarving courses and inspiring talks. The store’s layout is perfect for this and only imagination is the limit to what we can make out of it.” says Pia.
