Long live quality, hooray, hooray, hooray! Morakniv is happy to announce three new nominations for the Swedish Design Award 2023 in Graphic Identity, Packaging, and Product Design.
The Swedish Design Award is a competition that is open to everyone who works with graphic design, design and similar creative fields. Winners are chosen by jury assessment and online voting.
Our three nominations are the outcome of a pioneering partnership with the design and branding agency Identity Works, who embraced the task of designing packaging for the new Ash Wood Outdoor Collection knife collection with utmost enthusiasm, while also revitalizing our brand identity for the upcoming generations.
At the same time, the design jury has nominated the Morakniv Rombo BlackBlade™ (S) Ash Wood knife for its product design. Something that can be attributed to our sharp product development department.
Rombo’s large black knife blade and its distinctive side grind allow you to elevate your outdoor cooking skills. With a handle of bright ash wood, black recycled Swedish stainless steel and a black vegetable-tanned leather sheath, the high-quality knife is made of natural materials.
“The goal was to create a flexible knife for the outdoor chef who can be inspired by the forest’s culinary pantry,” says Thomas Johansson, industrial designer at Morakniv.
The jury of the Swedish Design Award will now vote on which finalists will be awarded prizes in different classes. The winners will be announced on October 19. At the same time, the “People’s choice” award will be decided in the form of a vote on the web, designpriset.se. Here’s your chance to vote for Morakniv between September 11 and 17th.
