The board of Morakniv AB has appointed Richard Jägrud as the new Chief Executive Officer of Morakniv AB. Richard Jägrud takes office on 15 May 2024.
“Richard Jägrud is the right person to lead development and continue to bring Morakniv to the world. He is a valued leader who has extensive experience of working with strong and successful brands,” says Kristian Florell, Chairman of the board of Morakniv AB.
“Morakniv is an exceptionally fine brand, and it is with pride and humility that I undertake this mission. I aim to bring a new dimension to brand and product development, primarily focusing on the users’ perspective. The key to driving improvement is to ensure the entire organization feels involved in future plans, working collaboratively towards established goals,” says Richard Jägrud.
Richard comes closest as CEO of Primus Silva Sweden AB. Richard’s strength lies primarily in the knowledge of building strong brands, developing innovative and at the same time commercial product concepts in combination with understanding the complexity of sales in multiple channels.
Richard previously also came from leading roles at Haglöfs both in sales & product development.
A Morakniv is always made in Mora
The journey for Morakniv begins in 1891 when Frost-Erik Erson returned home to the village Östnor in Mora after four years in North America. When he started his timber sledge factory, the first seed was sown for what would eventually become the company and brand Morakniv as we know it today.
In the beginning, Frost-Erik only manufactured knives for the factory’s internal use, but production would soon grow and more and more knives could be sent out in both Sweden and the world. Today, Morakniv has a turnover of almost SEK 200 million, of which over 70% is sold outside Sweden.
