74 mm hook blade with dual edges
The Hook Knife 163 Double Edge (S) features a 74 mm long blade with a shallow curve and edges sharpened on both sides – perfect for carving spoons or bowls with a broad, open shape. The 2 mm thick blade is made from recycled Swedish stainless steel and holds its edge well over time. The full rat-tail tang adds strength and stability, while the oiled Scandinavian birch handle provides a natural, comfortable grip. Each knife includes a premium leather sheath made from vegetable-tanned Swedish leather.
Open curve for spoons and smooth surface work
The knife’s wide, open curve and dual-edged blade make it ideal for carving smooth, shallow hollows in larger spoon bowls or wooden vessels. The blade glides easily across the wood surface without digging or catching. Thanks to the double edge, you can use both push and pull cuts for versatile carving. The shaped birch handle fits naturally in your hand, no matter your carving grip or technique – and can be modified for a custom fit.
Swedish stainless steel for lasting sharpness
The 2 mm thick blade is made from recycled Swedish stainless steel (12C27) with a recycled content of over 80%. The steel provides durability, excellent edge retention, and minimal maintenance. After heat treatment in our Mora factory, the blade reaches a hardness of 56.5 HRC and is sharpened on both edges for flexible use. The knife is made entirely in Sweden and assembled by hand in Mora – continuing a knife-making tradition spanning more than a century.
