Left-handed hook knife with right-ground edge
The Hook Knife 164 Left Hand (S) features a 55 mm long blade with a tight curve and right-ground edge – perfect for deep carving with your left hand. The full rat-tail tang provides strength and stability, while the recycled Swedish stainless steel blade holds its edge over time. The oiled Scandinavian birch handle offers a comfortable grip, and the knife includes a Swedish vegetable-tanned leather sheath.
Tight curve – optimized for deep hollowing
Thanks to its tight curve, this hook knife is ideal for carving deep hollows in scoops, spoons, and bowls. The blade is designed to glide smoothly along the inner surface without catching. As a left-handed knife with a right-ground edge, it’s intended for pull cuts when held in the left hand. The unsharpened spine allows you to push from behind with your right-hand fingers for added control. The birch handle fits naturally in your hand and can be shaped to suit your personal carving style.
Swedish stainless steel with lasting sharpness
The 2 mm thick blade is made from recycled Swedish stainless steel (12C27), with over 80% recycled content. This stainless steel offers durability, excellent edge retention, and minimal maintenance. After heat treatment in our Mora factory, the blade reaches a hardness of 56.5 HRC and is ground on one side only for precise control. Every knife is hand-assembled in Mora, Sweden – a product of more than 130 years of Swedish knife-making tradition.
