Handle Texture

The handle texture is different and a slightly more muted color than the original.

Tang
Grind

The length of the exposed tang is longer on the original Garberg.

The grind on the spine where the angle changes the slope toward the tip of the blade is uneven and not sharply delineated as it is on the original.
Bevel
Knife tip

The secondary bevel on the edge of the original Garberg is much narrower.

The angle of the tip is more acute on the original.
Belt Loop

The belt loop on the fake knives is made of a different material than that used for the original Morakniv Garberg. The texture is different, there is a lining of fabric inside, and the loop is longer on the fake knives. Additionally, the original Morakniv Garberg fits into the sheath with a positive snap.

The fake knives will push all the way into the sheath but there is no snap going in or out. The relief holes in the slit on the belt loop of the fake knives are not fully punched.
Morakniv logos and blade finish

The lettering on the blade of the original is flush with the metal and black or gold, depending on the light reflection. On the fake knives, the lettering is raised above the surface of the metal with a gold color reflection no matter the light angle. The steel finish of the blade is more polished on the fake knives.
