The Garberg (thus far) is–absolutely–my favorite model from Morakniv’s growing selection of outdoor fixed blades even with more recent releases…
I really enjoy the elegant appearance of the blackened carbon steel, particularly such as here–with the red handled Dala.
However, with the presence of the carbon fortifying the steel composite, it not only reinforces the integrity of the blade, but also renders it more prone to the formation of rust.
Henceforth, anything requiring–truly depending upon–work/wear in the elements (especially on the water/coast [salt/water/oxygen=extra corrosion for carbon])–the glowing shine/polished gleam of recycled Swedish stainless steel should really allure the keen eye of survival knife connesuiers/enthusiasts.
With it’s beefy–yet lean–FULL-tang (providing a convenient pommel/hammer in hand for a variety of bushwork/survival skills), the Garberg out-performs a great many other knives on the market which direly aspire for such extreme efficiency in performance, while–yet–at such a bargain of a price for the included package, at that..!
I REALLY love this knife!!!
I would consider some of the Ash Wood handled collection–as I also enjoy the more recently released blade designs–although, I feel like the polymer handle is more rugged, thus providing a better selection in the lasting endurance of #outdoor/ #bushcraft/ #survival knives, as well as providing a comfortable/sturdy barrel shaped grip (even with gloved hands). The handle is even equipped with a lanyard hole, so even if the knife is dropped, it’s never too far from one’s hand while working with it..!
Although, if apparel is of priority, on the other hand, I would certainly check out some of the Ash Wood handled collection, such as the Lok model, which has really caught my attention while browsing for a new piece for the collection… I really like this blade’s shape, and would love to give it a go, assessing it’s performance in the wild..!
Happy BushCraft..!

Great looking special edition Garberg. I have this model in the black handle and wanted to add the red handled version to my collection of tough, durable hard-use Mora knives.
Overall outstanding quality and value as the world has come to expect from Morakniv.
Shipping to the middle of the United States was quick considering the current global situation.
